Will there be a recovery after the crisis?

Will there be a post-crisis recovery?

Welcome back after a busy spring break. For those of you who've joined us recently, we'll continue to accompany you on Tuesdays and Fridays for a few more weeks to give you a few tips on how to make the most of your vacation. subsidy information (see below in this newsletter) and pick up a few tips.

The drop in virus cases and hospitalizations bodes well, but let's wait a little longer before rejoicing. As reported by THE PRESS It's still too early to draw conclusions on pandemic trends. Yesterday alone, the Journal de Montréal pointed out that the province of Ontario recorded its worst results in a month. Reason enough to remain vigilant for several more weeks...

RECOVERY FROM THE CRISIS?

After several confinements and the arrival of vaccines to counter COVID-19, we can hope that for the coming spring and summer, we'll be able to breathe a little easier. At the same time timeWith virus variants on the prowl, will local businesses finally see the light at the end of the tunnel?

We all know that to emerge from this crisis, our governments will have to take global action. In fact, action plans are currently being drawn up for various sectors. Culture is getting organized, the restaurant industry is getting ready, sporting activities are being deconfined, and even tourism and foreign travel may be possible this summer, with a tight framework.

But at your level, what will be the concrete YOUR actions for YOUR company to get out of this pandemic? Have you planned your various strategies?

At Training detailsthe formula for increasing sales has always been quite simple:
  1. We attract new customers who don't know us (CUSTOMER LEVERAGE).
  2. We increase the number of customers who already know us (FREQUENCY LEVER).
  3. We increase the average bill of customers who buy (PURCHASING LEVERAGE).

There aren't 56 strategies for making more sales and getting out of this crisis... there are three main ones: customer leverage, frequency leverage and purchasing leverage. It's the actions within these 3 levers that differ from company to company, and that can make a difference. The more creative and effective they are, the better their chances of generating results.

But does an action plan, no matter how good it may be, guarantee you a recovery after the crisis? Join us on March 17 and find the answer.

AN IMPORTANT WORKSHOP!

Visit Wednesday, March 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.our colleagues Damien Massicotte and Daniel Tanguay will be hosting a workshop for you entitled REPRISING AFTER THE CRISIS? This is not a statement. It's a question. What actions can you take in April and May to ensure you're ready to emerge from this crisis? What will make a real difference to post-pandemic customers? Will your action plan produce concrete results?

This is an important workshop, as it will enable entrepreneurs to see their action plan to emerge from this crisis from a rather different angle. - Daniel Tanguay

We look forward to hearing from you. The aim of this workshop is not to give you ready-made answers. They don't exist. There are no miracle recipes. We do, however, sincerely believe that there is a way forward. how to prepare to emerge from this pandemic. This is what we propose to discuss with you on Wednesday of next week.

Once again, the cost of our workshops varies according to your company's location, as many of our partners offer them FREE or at LOWER COST in their territory, thanks to an agreement with Détail Formation.

À la carte, the workshop fee is 75 $ + taxes for two hours on Zoom that could greatly help you with your action plan. Whether you're a manager who would like to register, or would like to know the rates that apply to your business, or a partner who would like to offer this workshop to businesses in their territory, or would just like to find out more about our partnerships, contact our colleague Myriam at [email protected]

SUBSIDY UPDATES

In our newsletter of February 26, we gave an overview of the various subsidies before leaving for spring break. While we were away last week, a few updates were announced by governments.
Here is the main information on current grants:
  • The basic wage subsidy (SSUC) rate is maintained at 40%, and the complementary wage subsidy remains at 35%. The combined maximum wage subsidy rate therefore remains at 75% for periods 13, 14, 15 and 16.
  • The SSUC's presumption rule always states that the calculation of the drop in income corresponds to the greatest drop in income between the current period and the previous period. If you had a 75% drop in income in February, you have a minimum 75% drop in income for the month of March, even if in reality your drop in income for March 2020 compared with March 2019 was, for example, only 15%.
  • The maximum rent subsidy rate (SUCL) is maintained at 65%, and the containment support measure will continue to be paid at 25%, giving eligible and still-contained companies support of up to 90%.
  • IMPORTANT: As many businesses were affected by COVID-19 from March 2020 onwards, for both SSUC and SUCL, companies will have to use the 2019 REFERENCE MONTHS for the next applications for periods 14 to 16 (from March 14, 2021 to June 5, 2021). Those who had used the other approach of comparing sales with the January-February 2020 average will retain this approach.
  • The Canadian government has applied to increase the maximum number of weeks available under the Canadian Economic Recovery Benefit (CERB) from 26 to 38. The process is ongoing. However, we do not know whether the September 25, 2021 deadline will be maintained or extended. We'll get back to you on this.
  • If you have already received financial support under the FARR, it may be possible to apply for increased financial assistance by contacting Canada Economic Development directly at 1 800 561-0633. Part of the additional contribution may also become non-refundable, similar to the CUEC. HOWEVER, THE DEADLINE IS MARCH 31, 2021. For those who obtained the FARR in 2020 or 2021, find out about this possible increase!

Have a good week and we look forward to seeing you on Friday.
