Le nom de la Distillerie « Grand Dérangement » rend hommage aux familles acadiennes déportées lors du Grand Dérangement en 1755, vers les villages environnants de Saint-Liguori, Saint-Alexis et Sainte-Marie-Salomé.
La région de Lanaudière accueille en effet aujourd’hui les créateurs et producteurs de spiritueux, Jean-Philippe Rail and Marcel Mailhot. Les terres de la Nouvelle-Acadie à Saint-Jacques donnent donc le jour au grain utilisé pour la production d’alcool de la distillerie.

The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité Achigan-Montcalm (SADC Achigan-Montcalm) is a non-profit organization administered by a Board of Directors made up of 7 citizen volunteers. Supported in part by Canada Economic Development (CED), it is part of a network of over sixty SADCs and CAEs (Centre d'aide aux entreprises) in Quebec. In Lanaudière, there are three SADCs. As a regional player, we serve companies belonging to one of the following communities from 10 municipalities of the Montcalm MRC as well as municipalities belonging to the L'Assomption RCM (municipalities of L'Assomption, L'Épiphanie and Saint-Sulpice). We also operate for municipalities in the Rivière du Nord RCMSainte-Sophie and Saint-Hippolyte.
In other words, we serve the municipalities of Saint-Hippolyte, Saint-Calixte, Sainte Sophie, Saint-Lin-Laurentides, Saint-Julienne, Saint-Esprit, Saint-Roch-Ouest, Saint-Roch-de-l'Achigan, Saint-Liguori, Saint-Alexis, Saint-Jacques, Sainte Marie-Salomé, L'Epiphanie, L'Assomption and Saint-Sulpice.
