Community Futures Program Performance Study - 2021

COMMUNITY FUTURES PROGRAM: THE SADC AND CAE NETWORK MAKES A REAL DIFFERENCE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

Québec City, December 16, 2021 - A study on the performance of the Community Futures Program (CFP), delivered by Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) and Centres d'aide aux entreprises (CAE), confirms that Quebec companies that do business with the network perform better.

The results of the Community Futures Program (CFP) performance study conducted by Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, in collaboration with Statistics Canada, were released last November. This study compares, over a five-year period, the performance of businesses with 100 employees or less that received CFP assistance, with other businesses with similar characteristics, but that did not receive CFDC or BDC services.

Vallier Daigle, President of the Réseau des SADC et CAE, says he is very proud of these results: "For 40 years, we have been ensuring the success of entrepreneurs and the economic vitality of our regions. With the financial contribution of Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, our professionals ensure the delivery of our three complementary business lines of local economic development, technical assistance and the business financing. We're firmly rooted in our communities, attentive to the needs of entrepreneurs, and form a large, agile and efficient national network of expertise. These are the distinguishing factors that make us a driving force for success.
The results of the study show that the support provided by the Réseau des SADC et CAE has a significant impact on business performance, on several levels.
