First Steps Academy

First Steps Academylocated in Saint-Lin-Laurentides, has won the award in the Services category to individuals highlighting its exceptional commitment to development and education.

L'Académie Premiers Pas, offers programs for basketball for youngsters aged 5 to 14 and over. For several years, this academy has been dedicated to teaching basketball fundamentals such as dribbling and defensive positioning, as well as the organization of an in-game attack. These courses are designed to help young people develop their skills in this sport while promoting teamwork and discipline sport. The academy emphasizes comprehensive training, so that each student can improve both his or her technical skills and understanding of the game.

Crèmerie du Village

Crèmerie du Village in Saint-Calixte was awarded in the Social Economy categoryhighlighting its vital role in our social and economic fabric.

Located in Saint-Calixtethe Crémerie du Village Saint-Calixte is a social economy enterprise whose mission is to provide financial support to other NPOs in Saint-Calixte through the sale of fresh dairy products. La Crémerie also aims to provide work experience and internships for young people in the community, enabling them to develop management and customer service skills. 

These companies will represent the Montcalm MRC for the Business creation at the regional Gala on April 30 at the Centre culturel de Joliette.

 

Fromagerie La Suisse Normande

La Suisse Normande cheese dairy in Saint-Roch-Ouest wins the award for the Doing business together. This award celebrates companies that stand out for their positive impact on the community by sourcing goods and services from local suppliers. These companies generate tangible impacts in their communities, positive tax spin-offs and a better balance of trade for Quebec.

La Fromagerie La Suisse Normande, located in Saint-Roch-Ouest, was born from the union of the cultural heritages of its founders, Fabienne Mathieu and Frédéric Guitel. Fabienne, a native of Switzerland, and Frédéric, originally from Normandy in France, chose to name their cheese dairy in homage to their European origins, as well as to a small region of Normandy whose landscape is reminiscent of Switzerland.

Founded in 1995This cheese dairy started out as a dairy farm with the ambition of increasing its autonomy. Over the years, the farm has evolved towards a self-sufficient approach, while remaining faithful to reasoned and sustainable farming practices. This commitment to durability is evident in every stage of production, where cheesemakers use traditional methods to create cheeses of exceptional quality, which are then carefully matured and pampered.

La Suisse Normande is not limited to cheese production; it also includes the Épicerie Rurale, where visitors can discover a range of local and regional products which embody the principles of local and responsible purchasing. This grocery store reflects the Cheese Factory's commitment to supporting local producers and promoting the regional economy, offering customers an authentic, integrated experience of the local terroir.
